Trauma, mental health challenges, and substance use disorders impact millions of individuals and families.

Research indicates that approximately 70% of people worldwide experience a potentially traumatic event during their lifetime, with a portion of those individuals developing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or complex PTSD.

In the United States, nearly 50 million people experience a substance use disorder each year, highlighting the widespread impact of addiction on individuals and communities.

Despite the availability of effective treatments, many individuals struggling with alcohol use disorder do not receive the support they need, with fewer than 10% receiving treatment in a given year.

These statistics demonstrate the need for accessible, trauma-informed, and supportive services that promote healing, resilience, connection, and personal growth.

Approximately 34 million U.S. children—nearly half of all children ages 0–17—have experienced at least one adverse childhood experience (ACE). These experiences, which may include abuse, neglect, household instability, or other forms of trauma, can contribute to toxic stress and have lasting effects on brain development, health, emotional regulation, and social outcomes across the lifespan.

In addition to the physical, emotional, and social consequences of childhood trauma and adult adversity, these experiences also create significant economic costs for individuals, families, communities, and society as a whole. By investing in accessible, trauma-informed support and healing opportunities, we can work together to strengthen resilience, promote well-being, and provide hope to those in our community who need it most.
